Eckington Cricket Club was reformed in 1970 after an 11 year gap. The initial games were played on the original cricket field at Court Close Farm. In 1971 we moved to the Recreation Centre onto a newly laid square. The original sports pavilion was opened in 1972 by the Worcestershire wicketkeeper Roy Booth.

The club played Saturday and Sunday fixtures and gained in strength in the Eighties, As with most clubs, the team entered a league. This was a league based in Cheltenham which we even won on a couple of occasions. When this league closed down, we joined the Cotswold League. However, the team withdrew from the league in 2008 and decided to play friendlies Sunday-only social cricket.
